Pre-camp reflections
Read the introduction, objectives and theoretical background to the project and then answer the following questions:
  •      What interests you about this project?
    I am interested in how 3D body imaging works.
  •       What do you want to learn by doing this project?
    I want to learn how to design a computer game and be able to engage the user with this game.
  •       What questions do you have about this project?
    How do you engage the player of the game?
  •      What do you personally want to have achieved by the end of this project?
    I want to learn how to design an interactive and engaging platform by learning how to design a game well and how to engage the user.

Reflections on Plenary Sessions

For each plenary session, consolidate your learning by answering the following questions:

  • Plenary session by Prof Kerry Sieh

    - Key learning points
    There are several ways to predict an earthquake such as studying previous earthquake patterns, studying corals, studying dropping on the floor of a cave and many others. I also learnt about terms such as subduction and megathrust.

    IT for animation

    - Key learning points
    IT is commonly used in the process of creating animation. 3D computer animation is much more efficient and cost-effective than 2D manual animation and it utilizes mathematical concepts and equations to animate objects, provide lighting and create dynamic physics.

    Innovative breakthroughs in nano-science and nano-technology

    -Key learning points
    I learnt that there are many different applications of nanotech ranging from changing the colour of gems to providing a nearly impenetrable layer of armour for tanks. Nanotechnology is the future as it has many other uses each as important as the other.

  •      What new questions do you have about the topic?  
    • How are equations used in the animating of objects (lighting, physics, etc.)

Your Accomplishments

Discuss how the project has deepened your understanding and broadened your awareness of the selected discipline.    


The project has taught me to never give up even when things go wrong. It has also taught me the value of teamwork when working together.
What do you now understand about this discipline that you were unaware of at the beginning?

I learnt that coding is a hassle and requires a lot of time, effort and patience in order to get right. I also learnt that working hard will result in a very satisfying result.

Describe how what you have learned from doing this project can be connected to what you are learning at school

 I have bonded more with my friends during this project and also understood more about what they enjoyed and what they disliked. I also found out more about their good points while working together and the places where they have to improve in. I can use this knowledge in school while working together or even just while interacting.

Describe how you can apply what you have learned from doing this project.

 At the end of the project, what new questions do you now have?

How is coding able to be used in the physical aspect of graphic engineering?


My thoughts and feelings about the camp
  All in all, I felt that the camp provided me with a valuable learning experience. I learnt about the life students in university lead by leading their life, such as going for lectures and living in the hostel. 


  While coding doing the project, I learnt to not give up easily even when things go wrong. I learnt that I need to learn to speak better and clearer as well. I learnt a lot about how 3D models could be generated from 2D scans of the body and how they could be programmed using HTML and other coding languages.
